Rep. Duterte says measure providing free legal aid to uniformed personnel to boost morale, productivity of law enforcers
QUEZON CITY - Providing free legal assistance to men and women in uniform facing charges in connection with the performance of their duties will help boost morale and productivity among the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other law enforcement agencies, according to Davao City First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte.
Duterte said the recent approval by the House of Representatives on third and final reading of House Bill (HB) 6509 is a step closer in providing this legal protection to “uniformed personnel who are wrongfully accused and charged, especially when their job involves having to expose high-profile criminal syndicates.”

Rep. Duterte urges Congress to complement father’s pro-OFW legacy by shielding remittances from excessive fees
QUEZON CITY - Davao City First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte is seeking the swift enactment of a law that would provide overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) discounted rates on remittance fees and safeguard their hard-earned money sent back home from excessive charges.
He called for the approval of House Bill (HB) 4469 and other similar measures to protect OFW remittance fees from usurious charges as the nation commemorates the Month of Overseas Filipinos this December.
Passing the measure would also complement the OFW-friendly legacy of his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, which is the establishment of the Overseas Filipino Bank (OFBank)-- the first branchless and digital-only bank in the country exclusively catering to the financial needs of Filipinos based abroad, the Davao City lawmaker said.

DAVAO CITY — First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte and his father, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, paid their respects to the latter’s parents’ graves last week in this city.
They visited the tombs of Vicente and Soledad Duterte at the Roman Catholic Cemetery here to commemorate the former’s 111h birth anniversary. Paolo and his father were seen lighting candles and offering prayers for their departed loved ones.

RCG Strikers Tagum won the 10th Pulong Duterte Taekwondo Championship
DAVAO CITY — The Regional Central Gym (RCG) Strikers Tagum bagged last Sunday, November 20, the title award at the 10th Pulong Duterte Taekwondo Championship held at the crowded SM Annex in Ecoland in Davao City.
RCG Strikers Tagum won the overall championship. At the same time, RCG Kaizen got the first runner-up, followed by the RCG Matanao and the Hwarang, respectively, said coach Johnny Kim, who is also the event organizer.

Rep. Duterte wants fines of up to P5-M on medical facilities violating the Anti-Hospital Deposit Law
DAVAO CITY First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte has proposed that the maximum fine imposed on hospitals and clinics demanding deposits before administering treatment for an emergency and severe cases be increased from the current P1 million to P5 million, along with other stringent penalties.
