Palace Press Officer Claire Castro challenged Davao City Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte to release documents related to the city’s flood control projects on Thursday, August 27.

The call came after Duterte insisted he possessed evidence proving the projects in Davao were properly implemented, following Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla’s description of the city as the “epicenter of flood control.”

Castro also pointed out that Duterte failed to appear and submit the said documents when summoned by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).

DAVAO CITY – More than 100 families displaced by flood here received relief assistance from the offices of Davao City first district Rep. Paolo Duterte and Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte II on Tuesday, May 19.

Teams from the “Pulong-Pulong ni Pulong” program were immediately deployed to flood- and landslide-hit communities to conduct relief and monitoring operations, particularly in Barangay Catalunan Grande, where at least three families were directly affected by a landslide.

Volunteers and responders distributed hot porridge, food packs, bottled water, ready-to-eat meals, blankets, and other emergency supplies to displaced residents in evacuation centers.

DAVAO CITY – Over 1,000 individuals displaced by a fire in Barangay 23-C have received assistance from Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte and Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte II.

Personnel have been distributing packed meals to affected families staying in temporary evacuation sites.

Authorities have recorded 460 affected families in evacuation centers, or around 1,356 individuals. Final validation by the City Social Welfare and Development Office is ongoing.

DAVAO City First District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte has raised concerns over what he called “pressure politics” in Congress, warning that accountability tools such as the Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) could be used selectively amid political tensions and impeachment efforts.

In a statement earlier this week, Duterte questioned the timing of renewed scrutiny over SALNs, suggesting that calls for transparency may be driven more by political convenience than principle. He said the issue appears to resurface when it becomes useful in influencing lawmakers.

“May kumakanta na namang tweety bird… biglang naging uso ang SALN—hindi para sa transparency, kundi para sa timing (Some little bird is singing again … suddenly SALNs are trending — not for transparency, but for timing),” he said.
