This so-called people’s initiatives for charter change is nothing but pure PI.

I was informed that PBA Partylist Rep. Margarita “Migs” Nograles is spearheading the PI movement in Davao City.

I am against this people’s initiative as this is not the people’s voice but the voice of a few who wanted to perpetuate themselves in power.

DAVAO CITY – At least 500 families, following three separate fire incidents here, had a pleasant New Year’s Eve as Representative Paolo Duterte, through the Pulong Pulong ni Pulong (PPP) Program, treated them with more than 20 roasted pigs (lechon baboy) and other special meals on Saturday, December 31.

The event started in Barangay Leon Garcia in Agdao of the second district at 4 p.m. The PPP staff distributed food packs and cash assistance to the fire victims – 133 owners, 165 sharers, 44 renters, and 34 boarders and caretakers. The fire victims also received hot porridge earlier.

DAVAO CITY – 68–year–old Lorna Querol bested 17 other contestants from three districts here in the adult category of the “Sing Along ni Pulong” Season 5 Grand Finals at Rizal Park on San Pedro Street on December 20, Wednesday evening.

Querol, a Piapi Boulevard Barangay 21–C resident, said in an interview that the song entitled “This Is My Life by Shirley Bassey” was her favorite music piece to sing in karaoke. She added that her grandchildren suggested singing it in the Grand Finals.

DAVAO CITY – The barangay police in the first district received motorcycle equipment from First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte through his son Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II along Ponciano Street on Saturday, November 25.

Rigo turned over the Kawasaki CT 100 equipment – a police siren with PA system and mic, front blinker, beacon light, front crash guard stainless, and pole stand stainless – to barangay captains to be used by the barangay police.

DAVAO CITY – The office of First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte, through the Pulong Pulong ni Pulong program, took rounds on November 9, Wednesday dawn, to inspect flooded areas caused by hours of heavy rainfall here.

Rep. Duterte’s office responded in the affected areas in the first district and distributed food packs (rice, canned goods, milk, bread, biscuits, and bottled water), hot meals, lunch, and other basic needs to flood victims.

DAVAO CITY – Thousands of fisherfolk from five barangays were happy and grateful to receive rice and cash assistance from Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte of the First District here.

Rolet Gallego, 33, a fisher dealer and president of a fisherfolk association at Sitio Malambuon in Barangay 76-A and resident of the same area, said things have become even more difficult as they struggle with what to sell since the fish have been scarce lately. 

DAVAO CITY – More than 2,000 fisherfolks received rice and cash support from Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte on Monday and Tuesday.

Rep. Duterte’s son Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II led the distribution of rice and cash support to 2,028 fisherfolks from barangays 21-C, 22-C, and 23-C at the Davao Coastal Road.

DAVAO CITY – First Congressional District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte, represented by his son, Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, turned over on September 13, Wednesday afternoon, various infrastructures to Barangay Langub officials in Ma-a here.

Barangay Langub chieftain Leilani Bacalso thanked Rep. Duterte for the three multi-purpose buildings situated at Zone 2, 3, and 4; a senior citizens’ building; a senior high school building; a covered court; a barangay hall; and lastly a farm-to-market road.

QUEZON CITY - Davao City First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte has pushed for the passage of a law that would grant rental subsidies to eligible informal settlers to help families living in hazardous areas or those rendered homeless by calamities to avail themselves of safe, decent shelter.

Duterte underscored the urgent need for Congress to approve the measure especially with strong typhoons and other calamities continuing to displace tens of thousands of families.
