Rep. Paolo Duterte reports first half of 2024 achievements

DAVAO CITY - First Congressional District Representative Paolo Z. Duterte remains steadfast in his commitment to enhancing the well-being of his constituents, as seen in his achievements during the first half of the year in the House of Representatives. 


Despite the various challenges, Rep. Duterte released his interactive infographic of accomplishments on Tuesday, July 30, from January to June this year, highlighting five recently authored principal bills and two House Resolutions.


Among the House Bills he mentioned is 09506, an act providing for the establishment of the SK (Sangguniang Kabataan) Hubs in each barangay, and 10064, an act establishing a system that protects the Community Intellectual Rights of Indigenous Cultural Communities.


The lawmaker also emphasized the importance of House Bill 9999, the act to promote greening and forest land rehabilitation and protection at the barangay level, spurring local climate change action.


Rep. Duterte is advocating for the House Bill 09976, an act providing death, disabilities, and accident insurance to barangay officials, watchers, health workers, daycare workers, and other members, increasing their insurance benefits and amending the Republic Act No. 6942.


He also cited House Resolution 01745, a resolution directing the appropriate House committees to investigate, with the help of relevant government agencies, the alleged cases of extrajudicial killings and human rights violations over the past 25 years.


Rep. Duterte’s leadership aided some 662 beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad) Program; 16,500 flood victims and 271 families affected by fire incidents in terms of emergency response.


The lawmaker also assisted 11,700 individuals with medical and burial assistance at Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC), 5,707 in private hospitals, and 1,706 for burial assistance. He supported 774 cancer patients and 602 SPMC senior citizens with maintenance medicines.


He also supported 800 college scholars through educational assistance, 24 post-graduate medicines, and six post-graduate Law schools. He also provided 50 roving motorcycles for the barangay police to be effective in their job.


Rep. Duterte continuously helped with the ongoing construction of the coastal road and Ma-a bridge and provided success in other services for the senior citizen’s associations, religious Muslim groups, solo parent associations, civic groups, professional associations, and anyone in need of help.


His office had distributed 108 wheelchairs and 24 tents, accommodated 123 solicitations, served 14,892 hot porridge, distributed 19,329 food packs and another 19,996 food packs with containers, and provided 7,837 packed lunches in times of emergency situations.


Rep. Duterte always underscores community service and ensuring human security. He vowed to continue crafting laws and handing out assistance to those in need.
