DAVAO CITY – The distribution of the cash support to various non-medical frontliners and Tricycle Operators and Drives Association (TODA) drivers and operators organized by First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte’s office has been on-going in barangays of the First District.

The initial data obtained from the First Congressional District Office revealed that 577 masseurs, 9,950 fishermen, and 11,049 drivers and operators are expected to get a Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) payout.

Beneficiaries who already received the cash are (TODA) drivers and operators from the barangays Catalunan Grande, Catalunan Pequeño, Bucana, and barangays 1 to 40. The rest are either falling in line or waiting for their schedule to receive the assistance.

TUPAD is a community–based package of assistance that offers emergency services for displaced, underemployed, and seasonal workers for a minimum of 10 days but over 30 days, depending on the nature of their work.

Rep. Duterte in coordination with the Department of Labor Employment in Davao Region (DOLE–Davao) organized the distribution of the assistance at the People’s Park in this city in their bid to help the beneficiaries recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The lawmakers expressed hope that the TUPAD program can help the families of the beneficiaries during the challenging times, encouraging them to continually support the government's efforts in alleviating the impact of the pandemic on every household.
