DAVAO CITY – First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte, through his son Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, distributed on April 15 relief and cash aid to fire victims in Barangay 19-B here.  

Each family of the four house owners, two sharers, and five renters received food packs, water containers, bottled water, and cash assistance through the PPP program of the lawmaker’s office.  

Rep. Duterte’s team immediately served at least 50 hot porridges (lugaw) and will provide packed lunch for the next five days, from Monday until Friday, April 19.   Rigo, grateful for the people’s unwavering support of his father and the Duterte family, affirmed their commitment to promptly assisting families affected by unfortunate events.   

Barangay 19-B chieftain Loreto Nicolas expressed his profound gratitude for the support provided to the fire victims currently recuperating from the incident.   The Bureau of Fire Protection in Davao (BFP–Davao) reported a fire gutted houses on Bacaca Road at Garcia Heights in Barangay 19-B on Friday, April 12, pegged at around P300,000 damages.   

Authorities noted that 42 individuals were affected by the incidents. The city government temporarily sheltered the fire victims at the ICC Village gymnasium.
