DAVAO CITY – At least 40 families affected by three fire incidents here this month received help from the office of First Congressional District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte as part of its ongoing commitment to assist disaster-affected families recovery.

Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte, on behalf of his father, led the distribution of food packs (canned goods, bottled mineral water, containers, and other essentials) and cash support to the families affected by the fire in Barangay 10-A on Wednesday, November 27.

They assisted six house owners in Barangay 10-A, three sharers, and two boarders. The office also ensured a packed lunch for everyone, suitable for three days, to help lessen the burdens of the fire victims during their recovery period.

Rigo and the first district staff distributed the same assistance to 15 house owners in Barangay Ma-a, five renters, five boarders, and six sharers affected by a similar incident on November 24. They also served hot porridge to each fire victim.

According to the Davao City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD), about 30 families were displaced following a fire that started from a house. Not a single person was reported hurt in the incident. The property damage reached around P400,000.

The First District Office also assisted three families affected by a fire incident in Brgy. 76-Bucana on November 1. They served food packs, hot porridge to every victim, and a packed lunch good for three days. 

Rigo said Rep. Duterte’s office will continue to provide relief and cash assistance to fire victims and those needing support. The lawmaker is known for his generosity, especially to distressed Davaoeños.
