DAVAO CITY – More than 100 fire victims and photographers received their cash-for-work payout, respectively, on the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) at the People’s Park along Palma Gil Street here this month.

The Office of the First Congressional District Representative Paolo Z. Duterte initially reported 21 fire victims from barangays 5–A and 26–C received their payouts from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), as facilitated by the district office on July 20.

Rep. Duterte’s office also recorded 66 fire victims from barangays 23–C and 28 received the same assistance from the government on July 19. Before the cash-for-work program, these fire victims received food packs and other basic necessities following the fire incident.

The legislator has been helping those in need, giving necessities like malong (a traditional Filipino garment), water containers, and food packs similar to 25 families affected by the fire incident in Tibungco District last June 28. These necessities were distributed in the area.

Meanwhile, Rep. Duterte’s office accounted for 162 photographers who received a payout at the People’s Park on July 13. The government gave all these TUPAD beneficiaries limited employment opportunities in various community improvement projects, thus, the payout.

Rep. Duterte’s office said the effective implementation of the TUPAD showcases the successful teamwork among local and national government, representatives, and engaged citizens. The initiative enhances everyone’s welfare and promotes responsible, eco-friendly stewardship.
