DAVAO CITY – First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte wishes eternal happiness for the newly-wedded couples in Barangay Puan on August 1.

More than 50 couple exchanged their vows and decided to embark on life as partners during the “Kasalan ng Barangay 2023” at the Mikos Place in Puan of this city.

“Wishing the newly-wedded couples a joyful celebration and an unending love and happiness as husband and wife,” Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II said on behalf of his father.

Rigo attended the Kasalan ng Barangay administered by Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte on behalf of his father, who is currently attending to other important matters.

“Congressman Pulong deeply regrets that he could not attend and celebrate with you today. So, I am making an effort to attend this significant event,” Rigo told the couples.

The First Congressional District Office also extended a small gift for each bride through Rigo. Rigo encouraged the brides to use the money to buy make-up and a beautiful dress.

Rigo emphasized the importance of the wives staying attractive inside and outside for their hubby and for the latter to do the same to their respective wives and be loyal to each other.

The lawmaker’s son, on his behalf, thanked Barangay Bago Gallera chieftain Chelo V. Cañares for remembering and inviting them on this special occasion for the newly-wedded couples. 

“Of course, we should also thank our city mayor, who is the most important figure today, because, without him, the wedding preparation will not proceed as it is,” Rigo said.

Mayor Duterte conveyed his appreciation for the collective efforts that contributed to the success of the event.

Rep. Duterte’s office and the City Government of Davao congratulated the newly married couples and expressed their wishes for a promising future.
