DAVAO CITY — The distribution of sports equipment and solar lights by 1st District Congressman Paolo “Pulong” Duterte and Acting Vice Mayor Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II officially started today, July 10, targeting every barangay in Davao City’s First District.

The first recipients of the initiative were Barangay 76-A Bucana and Barangay Maa, where Acting Vice Mayor Rigo Duterte personally handed over the items, which included basketball rings, fiberglass boards, and solar lighting systems. No formal program or ceremony was held during the turnover.

The items were simply delivered directly to barangay officials to ensure immediate use by the community. Barangay Captain Robert Olan-Olan of 76-A Bucana expressed his gratitude for the donations. “This is a big help for our youth. We used to have wooden boards, now we have fiberglass ones. Our sports program has definitely leveled up,” said Kap Olan-Olan.

The distribution will continue weekly, covering different barangays until all communities in the First District are provided for. This effort is part of the continuing commitment of Cong. Pulong and Acting Vice Mayor Rigo Duterte to promote youth development, strengthen barangay sports programs, and bring sustainable lighting to communities through solar lighting systems.
