CCSA Rules the Court in Pulong Sepak Takraw 2026

DAVAO CITY — CCSA rose above a field of determined competitors to capture the championship in the Pulong Sepak Takraw 2026: Battle of the Champions, capping two action-packed days of explosive rallies, spectacular plays and fierce but friendly competition at the Davao City Recreation Center on August 21–22.
From powerful serves and pinpoint sets to soaring spikes and clutch blocks, the tournament brought the best of Davao City’s sepak takraw talent together—and CCSA came out on top. CCSA displayed grit, composure and skill throughout the competition to claim the championship, taking home ₱50,000 in cash and the championship trophy.
Boot Camp Diwa settled for 1st Runner-Up and received ₱30,000 and a trophy, while SODUSTA finished 2nd Runner-Up with ₱20,000 and a trophy. CBC completed the podium as 3rd Runner-Up, earning ₱15,000 and a trophy. The matches delivered plenty of action, with powerful serves, precise sets, explosive spikes, crucial blocks and dramatic rallies keeping spectators on their feet and showcasing the high level of sepak takraw talent in Davao City.
Stars of the Tournament The championship also shone the spotlight on players who delivered standout performances throughout the competition:
Best Setter: Dominic Sagosoy — ₱2,000
Best Tekong: Rogin Lapaz — ₱2,000
Best Spiker: Helbert Albiso — ₱2,000
Best Blocker: Helbert Albiso — ₱2,000
MVP: Robert Lapaz — ₱2,000
Albiso was one of the tournament’s biggest standouts, taking home both the Best Spiker and Best Blocker awards, while Lapaz was named MVP for his outstanding overall performance. But while the championship was decided on the court, the tournament’s impact reached beyond it.
Through its community assistance component, Barangay Tacunan received 50 sacks of rice, adding a meaningful community dimension to the sporting event.
The tournament was brought to Dabawenyos through Pulong Pulong ni Pulong (PPP) under the leadership of Congressman Paolo “Pulong” Duterte, with the event promoting sports, youth development, community outreach and camaraderie.
The awarding ceremony, represented by Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre of the 2nd District and Councilor Ragde Ibuyan Jr. of the 1st District, officially capped two days of intense yet sportsmanlike competition.
More than a battle for trophies, the Pulong Sepak Takraw 2026: Battle of the Champions proved that sports can bring people together—turning every serve, spike and rally into a celebration of talent, teamwork and community spirit. CCSA may have taken the championship, but Davao’s athletes and communities were the real winners.
