Davao's 30K marginalized workers get gov't aid from July-Sept.

DAVAO CITY – At least 30,000 marginalized workers have benefited from various projects and programs initiated or coordinated by Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte during his first three months in office, the lawmaker's office reported Tuesday.

DAVAO CITY – More than 30,000 fishermen, public utility drivers, and other marginalized and displaced workers benefited from the various projects and programs initiated by First Congressional District Representative Paolo Z. Duterte during his first three months in the 19th Congress.

Rep. Duterte has also filed 60 bills from July to September 2022, the most recent of which seeks to either raise the incomes or provide economic relief to public school teachers, small farmers, freelance workers and calamity victims, to name a few.

The office of Duterte tapped the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to provide Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Disadvantaged/Displaced Worker (TUPAD) benefits to some 8,160 fisherfolks and 5,799 public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers in his district of July to September.

MANILA, Philippines — A measure seeking free freight services for the transport of relief goods in areas devastated by calamities has been filed before the House of Representatives.

House Bill 4809 states that the delivery of relief goods to areas declared under a state of calamity by the President or local government units should be at no cost to relief organizations.
