“We should not delay anymore the implementation of the law creating the MDDA. Metro Davao is seven times the size of Metro Manila and even bigger than the land area of Singapore. The MDDA is necessary so that the development plans of the cities and municipalities comprising Metro Davao will move in a synchronized path that is beneficial to all,” Duterte said.

In a statement, Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte said the development of Metro Davao requires a unified approach to reduce the problems that plague fragmented urban communities.

Davao City Representative Paolo Duterte on Wednesday called for the implementation of the law creating the Metropolitan Davao Development Authority (MDDA) which was passed shortly before his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, finished his term on June 30.

“We should not delay the implementation of the law creating the MDDA. Metro Davao is seven times the size of Metro Manila and even bigger than the land area of Singapore. We can save Metro Davao from haphazard planning and transform it into a smart, sustainable, and resilient metropolis if the MDDA can start doing its job,” Duterte said.

Noting that Davao is seven times the size of Metro Manila, Davao City 1st district Rep. Paolo Duterte has called for the immediate implementation of the law creating the Metropolitan Davao Development Authority (MDDA) down south.

Duterte was referring to Republic Act (RA) No.11708 or the MDDA law.

Naaprubahan na ng House Committee on Health ang panukalang batas sa paglikha ng Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) na may kapangyarihang magrekomenda sa Presidente ng deklarasyon ng public health emergency. Trabaho rin ng Philippine CDC na bumuo ng mga polisiya, programa, at mga guideline para ma-monitor ng maayos, maiwasan, at makontrol ang mga pagkalat ng mga sakit.

Kasama ang House Committee on Science and Technology, naaprubahan na rin ng Committee on Health ang bill na magtatag sa Virology Institute of the Philippines (VIP).

Magandang balita ang planong ipapatupad na ang probisyon sa Republic Act (RA) 11201 para matukoy kung alin-alin ang mga nakatiwangwang na mga lupain ng gobyerno na maaring patayuan ng pabahay.

Ang RA 11201 na nagtatag sa Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) ay pinirmahan ng aking ama, ang dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, noong Pebrero 2019. Pagkatapos mabuo ang DHSUD, agad na umarangkada ito para matupad ang plano ng Pangulong Duterte na mabigyan ng disenteng pabahay ang mga homeless at mahihirap na pamilya.

Sa loob ng tatlong taon na ang DHSUD ay binuo at nagtrabaho sa ilalim ng administrasyong Duterte, malaki ang naging kontribusyon nito para matupad ang pangarap ng mga Pilipinong magkaroon ng sariling bahay.

Mahaharap sa mas mabigat na parusa ang mga hospital na hindi tatalima sa Anti-Hospital Deposit Law (RA 10932).

Sa House Bill 3046 na inihain ni Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte, nakasaad na mula sa P1 milyong piso multa ay itataas na sa P5 milyon sa mga ospital at klinika na humihingi ng deposito bago tulungan ang mga taong nanganganib ang buhay.

Ang empleyado o medical practitioner na lalabag sa Anti-Hospital Deposit Law ay pagmumultahin ng P500,000 hanggang P1 milyon at kulong na apat hanggang anim na taon.

Ipinanukala ni Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte ang Anti-Hospital Deposit Law para sa mga ospital at klinika na humihingi ng deposito bago sila manggamot kahit nasa emergency ang mga pasyente.

Ayon kay Duterte, babantayan ng naturang panukala ang karapatan ng mga pasyente kung saan dapat tanggapin sa kahit anong ospital at mabigyan agad ng lunas kahit wala pa itong paunang bayad.
