FIRST District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte and his father, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, paid their respects to their forebearers last week in Davao City.

They visited the tombs of Vicente and Soledad Duterte at the Roman Catholic Cemetery to commemorate the former’s 111th birth anniversary. Pulong and his father lighted candles and offered prayers for their departed loved ones.

Davao City 1st district Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte paid his respects to his late grandfather, Vicente Gonzales Duterte, on the occasion of the latter’s 111th birth anniversary last week.

Accompanying Pulong in his visit to the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Davao was his father, former president Rodrigo Duterte.

Vicente was born on November 23, 1911 in Danao, Cebu where he had served as mayor. Vicente later became governor of the then unified province of Davao. He was the last to serve as governor of Davao when it was still a single political entity.

DAVAO CITY – The Regional Central Gym (RCG) Strikers Tagum bagged the overall crown in the 10th Pulong Duterte Taekwondo Championship at the SM Annex in Ecoland here on Sunday, Nov. 20.

First runner-up was RCG Kaizen, with RCG Matanao and Hwarang, second and third runners-up, respectively, said coach Johnny Kim, event organizer.

Almost 700 taekwondo athletes from Davao, Digos, Tagum, and Mati, and the municipalities of Malita, Matanao, Nabunturan, Compostela, and Lupon competed.

A taekwondo coach who trained Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte is grateful for the support of the politiko to young athletes.

Coach Johnny Kim, the organizer of the 10th Pulong Duterte Taekwondo Championship held recently, said Duterte was still young when he trained him.

“I have been on this journey for a long time already. Paolo [Duterte] was young back then when I trained him (in taekwondo). He was not yet a politician at that time. We are grateful for his support to the club and to our taekwondo athletes,” Kim said.

THE Regional Central Gym (RCG) Strikers Tagum bagged the 10th Pulong Duterte Taekwondo Championship in the final games of the competition held last Sunday, November 20, before a jampacked crowd at the SM Annex Ecoland in Davao City.

RCG Strikers Tagum won the overall championship in the tournament. RCG Kaizen was named overall first runner-up, while RCG Matanao and the Hwarang, respectively, landed as 2nd and 3rd overall runners-up, said coach Johnny Kim, who is the event’s organizer.

Ito ang sinabi ni coach Johnny Kim, ang organizer ng 10th Pulong Duterte Taekwondo Championship na ginanap sa SM Annex Ecoland sa Davao City.

Ayon kay Kim, sumalang sa taekwondo training si Duterte bago ito naging politiko.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 25) — Davao City Representative Paolo Duterte called to fast track implementation of the law establishing the Metropolitan Davao Development Authority (MDDA) which was passed just before his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, stepped down from office in June.

Duterte said MDDA will put in place “efficient, long-term solutions” to challenges amid the “rapid urbanization and progress of one of the fastest growing regional economies in the country.”

Sinabi ni Duterte na patuloy ang paglago ng ekonomiya sa rehiyon, sa katunayan noong pre-pandemic at lumago ang enokomiya nito ng 7% noong 2019 at kahit na may pandemic noong 2021 ay nasa 5.9 % ang economic growth.
