DAVAO CITY – First Congressional District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte on Wednesday, March 27, criticized those who questioned her sister’s – Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte – silence on China’s aggression in the West Philippine Sea.

The lawmaker, who defended his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, amid the grace threats case filed against him, spoke up for his sister after the Akbayan Party called out the Vice President for “turning a blind eye” to Filipino vessels bullied in their own waters.

Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte’s bill that aims to increase the annual teaching supplies allowance of the teachers is expected to be implemented in the School Year 2024-2025.

The bill passed in the third and final reading of the House in December last year, which will double the amount of teaching supplies allowance for public school teachers.

Aside from Rep. Duterte, his father and sister, former President Rodrigo Duterte and the present Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte visited Garcia’s last wake on March 16. The Duterte family sympathized with the Garcia family.

The Duterte siblings interacted and shook hands with government officials, guests, and spectators during Parada Dabawenyo, one of the significant events of Araw ng Dabaw, a month-long festivity featuring talents and identities, music, food bazaars, and other community engagements.

The Vice President, who ranted a photo opportunity with spectators, urged the people to stay unified in their efforts to attain peace and progression. She said everyone should understand each other as everyone has the same goal and one direction for the country.
