DAVAO CITY – Rep. Paolo Duterte here has sought a congressional inquiry into the reported extrajudicial killings in the country over the past 25 years.

The lawmaker filed House Resolution 1745 on Wednesday, May 22, after the House Committee on Human Rights began investigating deaths related to police anti-drug operations during the term of his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Davao City Representative Paolo Duterte has filed a resolution seeking a congressional investigation into the alleged extrajudicial killings in the country for the last 25 years.

Duterte made the proposal under House Resolution 1745, which he filed on May 22 or after the House Committee on Human Rights started its investigation on deaths associated with police anti-drug operations during the term of his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte filed a resolution urging the House of Representatives to conduct a broader investigation on the real situation of extrajudicial killings (EJKs) and human rights abuses in the country for a period of at least 25 years.

Rep. Pulong filed House Resolution No. 1745 appealing to Congress to direct appropriate House committees to conduct a nationwide investigation, in aid of legislation, to include in particular areas identified to have been involved or has a history of cases of EJKs and human rights abuses.

Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte is pushing HB 9859, which seeks to exempt indigents from paying the application fee for the board exam.

The bill, which has been delivered to the Senate where it is still being studied, is the final version of the original bill to make the licensure or professional exam fee free for poor graduates.
