A lawmaker is urging his colleagues to expedite the passage of a proposed law that aims to establish the Department of Water Resources (DWR).

According to Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte the DWR would be the lead agency to be tasked to secure the country’s supply of water and effectively manage the delivery of this vital resource.

Also in his House Bill 3727, Duterte proposed the inclusion of the creation of a Water Trust Fund (WTF) in the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr), which the proposed DWR can tap to fund water sustainability projects.

According to the measure, revenues from non-tax sources related to water management such as fees for raw water pricing, permit, registration, supervision and regulation enforcement, processing, testing, and other service income from the use of water resources will be collected to establish the WTF.

House Bill (HB) 7687, filed by Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte with Benguet Rep. Eric Yap and ACT-CIS Rep. Edvic Yap, seeks to strengthen an existing cancer assistance fund mandated by the National Integrated Cancer Control Act (Republic Act 11215).

Panawagan nito na magtayo ng district office ang TESDA sa Davao City para mas maraming kabataan ang makatanggap sa mga programa ng ahensya.

Saad nito, may 182 barangays siyudad na may 1.78-M na populasyon kaya malaking tulong kung mapalalawig ang mga serbisyo ng TESDA doon.

Duterte filed House Bill 1756 proposing the setting up of a TESDA office in Davao City.

“This will enable more people in Mindanao to access better job opportunities through technical and vocational training,” said Duterte.

With 182 barangays and a population of 1.78 million, Davao City alone covers a large area that necessitates setting up a separate TESDA office to enable the agency to effectively deliver its services and fulfill its goal of providing “quality-assured and inclusive” technical and vocational education, Duterte said.

In order to provide greater access to technical and vocational training for job opportunities, Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte called for the establishment of a Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) district office in his city.

Duterte, in House Bill 1756 said setting up an office in the city will bring TESDA services closer to its 1.78 million residents in 182 barangays.

THE Office of Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte is now accepting scholarship applications for various courses under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority's (Tesda) training-for-work program.

The Tesda Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) intends to continue bridging skills gaps and labor shortages in key industries and areas with strong employment demand.

The initiative is part of the government's continuous efforts to bring excellent technical and vocational education and training (TVET) to the grassroots and increase the employability of poor Filipinos.
