MANILA – Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte on Sunday underscored the importance of creating an additional division in the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) to further improve the quasi-judicial body’s handling of labor cases.

Duterte and Rep. Eric Yap of the lone district of Benguet have filed House Bill (HB) No. 4958, establishing an additional division in the NLRC “in support of its mission to resolve labor disputes in the fairest, quickest, least expensive and most effective way possible.”

In a bid to hasten the resolution of labor-related disputes, Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte and Benguet Rep. Eric Yap have filed a bill seeking to create a division of the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) in Davao.

The lawmakers said that increasing the NLRC divisions from eight to nine is “in support of its mission to resolve labor disputes in the fairest, quickest, least expensive, and most effective way possible.”

Davao solon seeks creation of another CA division in Mindanao

MANILA – Rep. Paolo Duterte has filed a bill seeking to establish another division of the Court of Appeals (CA) in Mindanao to be stationed in Davao City.

Duterte said his proposed measure, House Bill (HB) 7895, is in pursuit of speedy disposition of cases, including the declogging of the CA divisions’ court dockets, and of increasing access to the CA services.

If enacted into law, the Court of Appeals in Davao City would have jurisdiction over cases originating from the 11th and 12th Judicial Regions.

The proposed House Bill 7896, or the Anti-Veterinary Malpractice Act of 2023, also seeks to require veterinarians to avail of malpractice insurance to answer for any claims of damages arising from the act or omission perpetrated by them resulting to injury or loss of life to any animal.

Davao City—Two members of the House of Representatives filed a resolution urging the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to check the status of airports and their security facilities to reduce inconvenience and avoid congestion.

The First Congressional District Office noted around 66 families currently staying at Shanghai Gym, Matina Aplaya received heavy meals on April 21 and food packs the following day.
