LAWMAKERS appealed to Congress to swiftly pass a measure requiring business establishments to install and maintain closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in their workplaces and exits, as a means to deter crime and aid investigations conducted by law enforcers.
House Bill 8068 was authored by Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte, Benguet Rep. Eric Yap and ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Edvic Yap.

Lawmakers pressed Congress to swiftly pass a measure requiring business establishments to install and maintain CCTV cameras in their workplaces to deter crimes and aid post-incident investigation by law enforcers.
Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte, Benguet Rep. Eric Yap and ACT-CIS Partylist Rep. Edvic Yap filed House Bill (HB) 8068 mandating all businesses employing more than 20 workers and with work premises of not less than 50 meters to install CCTV or surveillance cameras, and maintain these in good working condition.

Paolo Duterte calls for stricter firearm regulations
Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte has called for the implementation of stricter firearm regulations following the shooting of a traffic enforcer by a drunk motorcycle rider in Tanza, Cavite.
Duterte said the Philippine National Police (PNP) should strengthen its efforts in regulating gun ownership, starting with imposing more rigid screening procedures in issuing licenses to possess and carry firearms.

Rep. Duterte to redefine illegal recruitment as crime of economic sabotage
TO better protect from exploitation and promote the welfare of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte with Benguet Rep Eric Yap have filed a proposed measure seeking to strengthen the definition of illegal recruitment in the Labor Code by providing a more stringent requirement to what constitutes illegal recruitment by a syndicate.
House Bill No. 8360 states that instead of three conspirators, it currently proposes that at least two conspirators would now correspond to an illegal recruitment syndicate, which is tantamount to economic sabotage, and eventually, violators would be meted stricter and stiffer penalties.

Duterte eyes law granting 20% discount for needy PUV drivers
DAVAO City Rep. Paolo Duterte on Saturday pushed for the enactment of a bill that grants an across-the-board 20-percent discount for indigent public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers on pertinent fees and other requirements needed in securing a professional driver’s license.
Duterte, principal author of House Bill (HB) 8070, Duterte, cited the need for the government to prioritize the welfare of PUV drivers.
