Representatives Paolo Duterte of Davao city, Eric Yap of Benguet, Jocelyn Tulfo and Edvic Yap of ACT-CIS party-list and Ralph Tulfo of Quezon City filed House Bill 8480 which obliges telecommunication companies refund customers who experienced intermittent or continuous service disruption for 24 hours or more in a month.

MANILA – Lawmakers led by Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte are pushing for the passage of a law that would require public telecommunications entities (PTEs) and internet service providers (ISPs) to institute a refund mechanism for service outages and disruptions.

Naghain ng panukala si Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte at apat pang kongresista ng panukala upang mabigyan ng automatic refund ang mga kustomer na nakaranas ng paputol-putol o walang serbisyo na tumagal ng 24 na oras sa loob ng isang buwan.
Ayon kay Duterte, ang panukalang Refund for Internet and Telecommunications Service Outages and Disruption Act (House Bill 8480) ay titiyak na ang babayaran lamang ng mga kustomer ay ang serbisyo na kanilang nakuha at magtutulak sa mga telco na ayusin ang kanilang serbisyo.

Lawmakers push for more penal facilities
MANILA, Philippines — Underscoring the “substandard and inadequate” conditions in penal facilities in the country, three lawmakers have filed a bill proposing the establishment of more jails nationwide.
In House Bill 8071, Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte, Benguet Rep. Eric Yap and Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) partylist Rep. Edvic Yap said the country is lacking detention facilities so the existing ones are jampacked with inmates.

Solons push additional penal facilities
Davao City First District Representative Paolo Duterte recently filed a measure that aims to establish an additional penitentiary system in the country to provide prisoners decent and humane accommodation.
The proposed bill – which was also filed by Benguet Representative Eric Yap – seeks to address the substandard and inadequate penal facilities in the country, which resulted in over congestion and subhuman conditions of prisoners.
