Rep. Paolo Duterte, China Consul General donate 320 sewing machines to Davao City
DAVAO CITY – First Congressional District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte, through his son Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte, with China-Davao Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen, turned over 320 sewing machines to Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte on Wednesday, August 2.
The turnover and blessing of the “320 units of household sewing machines” donated by the First Congressional District Office and the People’s Republic of China in Davao to the city government were held at People’s Park in the presence of the 11 tribes.

A MINDANAO congressman has filed a measure that aims to institutionalize the pandemic-era patient navigation and referral system to maintain and further expand the linkages among healthcare providers throughout the country and enable Filipinos to immediately gain access to medical care and treatment.
“The One Hospital Command, which was later called the National Patient Navigation and Referral Center (NPNRC), was used during the pandemic mainly as a means to quickly refer Covid-19 patients to available nearby hospitals and healthcare facilities. This should be improved and expanded into a nationwide network and given sufficient funding to be an effective component of our Universal Health Care (UHC) program,” Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte said.

Congressmen file bill for free licensure exams for indigents
DURING the second regular session of the Congress, Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte together with Benguet Representative Eric Yap filed House Bill (HB) 4927 in an aim to free the qualified indigents from the burden of paying for licensure examinations.
Under HB 4927 or “An Act providing for Free Professional Examinations to Qualified Indigents”, “qualified indigents” refer to “persons with no visible means of income or support, or whose income may not be sufficient for the subsistence or basic needs of his family, as may be determined by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).”

Solon hopes bill removing exam fees for qualified indigents gets House attention
MANILA, Philippines — A lawmaker has sought for the passage of a bill he filed, which seeks to remove professional and bar examination fees for qualified indigents, to ensure that financial woes would not hinder career aspirations.
In a statement, Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte said that he and Benguet Rep. Eric Yap hope that their colleagues at the House of Representatives would “swiftly act on the bill so that it could soon benefit indigents who will take the licensure examinations.”

Libreng licensure exams para sa mga mahihirap na Pinoy isinulong
ISINULONG ni Davao City 1st. Dist. Congressman Paolo Z. Duterte ang isang panukalang batas sa Kamara de Representantes na naglalayong gawing libre ang mga “licensure examinations fees” para sa mga qualified indigent Filipino o yung mga walang kakayahang magbayad ng nasabing bayarin dala ng kanilang kahirapan.
Ito ang nakapaloob sa House Bill No. 4927 na inihain ni Congressman Duterte kasama si Benguet Congressman Eric Yap para maging libre ang pagbabayad ng mga fees para sa mga indigent Filipino. Matapos nilang igiit na hindi dapat maging handlang ang pagbabayad ng mga licensure examination fees para hindi maging propesyunal ang isang indigent o mahirap na mamamayan.

Bill seeks to waive licensure, bar exam fees for poor students
A BILL seeking to allow qualified indigents to take the Bar and other licensure examinations for free has been filed at the House of Representatives to remove another obstacle for poor but deserving students.
Rep. Paolo Duterte of Davao City and Rep. Eric Yap of Benguet have filed House Bill No. 4927 to provide the benefit to graduates from poor families “in order to level the playing field amongst all future professional examination takers.”
