DAVAO CITY – First Congressional District Representative Paolo Z. Duterte is planning to donate tablets or cellular phones to students in line with the ongoing distance learning amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Rep. Duterte, in a press conference here in Davao City on January 18, said that the First Congressional District Office is still looking for a supplier who can provide affordable good quality tablets or cellular phones, as these will be heavily used for online learning.
The young congressman said, the office will need around P18-million for the purchase of the tablets and/or cellular phones. He added that the amount is quite big, and so, they are hoping that there are friends who could help them in providing the needs of the less fortunate.
“Kung naay mga malumong kasing-kasing dira na mga amigo na makatabang. Nangita mi ug barato-barato na kanang magdugay pud, dili ng maguba pud dayon” Rep. Duterte said.
Aside from the tablets and/or phones for students from elementary to college, Rep. Duterte will also be giving away educational toys that stimulate learning for less fortunate children ages 3 to 5 years old.
