DAVAO CITY – First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte urged Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) scholars to become more productive and active citizens of Davao City.

The young congressman encouraged more than 60 TESDA scholars who completed their training in breadmaking and cookery from January to June this year, congratulating them for their success in their chosen courses.

Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, on behalf of his father, expressed his gratitude and joy as Rep. Duterte’s efforts have not been in vain in providing the identified beneficiaries further knowledge and skills in their vocational courses.

“We hope that through the help of Congressman Pulong, you could be instruments for advancing your family and distance yourselves and your children from the vices of society, particularly illegal drugs,” Rigo said during the distribution of the starter toolkits last month.

Among the toolkits distributed are chef’s knife, food tongs, mixing bowl, chopping board, spatula, flour sifter, measuring cup, measuring spoon, saucepan, piping bags, wire whisk, digital weighing scale, and muffin pan.

The “distribution of the toolkits” was jointly conducted by the TESDA Davao District Office, the House of Representatives, and DMMA College of Southern Philippines. The toolkits will help the beneficiaries practice what they have learned and do small business.
