Ma-a landslide victims receive cash aid from First Congressional District Office

DAVAO CITY - At least 26 families affected by a landslide in Barangay Ma-a received cash aid from the First Congressional District Office on June 18, Friday afternoon.


First District Rep. Paolo Duterte's staff gave the immediate assistance to the victims who are temporarily sheltered in the barangay and at Ma-a National High School.


The cash assistance benefited landslide victims, with the office pooling the resources to help them recover from the disaster that happened about a week ago.


The Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (BDRRMO) noted 26 families or 82 individuals were evacuated following the landslide at Juario Village.


Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) earlier stepped up its alert system in the barangays especially in landslide and flood-prone areas.


The CDRRMO identified Purok 9, Juario Village, among 22 other areas, as prone to landslide. The residents have been told to evacuate sooner to avoid untoward incident.
